REGINA Color: green (Philosophy) Page writings: "I try" written over and over again and words like "Help", "I take over an empty throne", "Who am I" and "Who is he" Initial Introduction: 4 doors marked as follows: "love", "LOVE", "fear", "despair"--likely representative themes of what's behind the doors with a task needing to be completed. Door Chosen: "despair"--falling through space surrounded by stars. the stars burned to the touch without damaging the skin. taking up the stars slowed the descent. enough stars caused a complete stop. used a satchel to collect enough stars. throwing a star down showed a glimpse of destruction. a pattern was in the stars, I thought it looked like a person so I finished the figure while standing on a star I placed. my legs felt like they were melting off the whole time. I also saw more and more scenes of destruction, just watching it unfold (at least they were largely natural occurrences). falling off the star again and looking up at it, I saw something indescribably beautiful. sweat and tears collected. time slowed to a stop. these droplets became ink, and I used that ink along with the pen we were given to write "Hello, World." I received a response. see also: the first Public Missive. I was shoved out of the sky and back into the library. After: we were given access to supplies and able to write out the place we would be living in for the next while. Regina says she thinks she used to be a queen.
Update: Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru went through the "Fear" door and encountered something they had to fight. Gojo Satoru claims to have met "a ghost" who said their heart has been put somewhere to keep it safe(?) and has since been lost.
Azul Ashengrotto has information regarding one of the doors, an office that centered around one of the loves. Will write more when I get the full details.
Update: Regina has run another Scenario. Details to come.
[updated at some point Day 11:]
2nd Scenario: The premise is to present various truths and obtain bronze, silver, or gold charms on a bracelet. The metal depended on the "worth" of the truth or secret that was given. The bracelets also had 3 heart charms that could be crushed and blowed upon to force someone to admit to a truth or secret if asked, whether they wanted to or not. Conditions for winning: the most gold charms used, but also appears to have had a condition involving contentious or conflictive truths. After: Philosophy and Arts & Rec won this Scenario. The reward was fulfilling the request for 1 item for Arts & Rec and 2 items for Philosophy. Emet-Selch left the decision of the item to me, as I obtained the most gold in our group. I allowed Rook Hunt, who is new, to make the choice instead. Other Information: Regina showed herself again and was more willing to linger to speak with us, answering some questions. She acknowledged that using her "symbolic form" is simply better for now, out of shyness and because it expends less energy. This is not so different from how Constellations of lower ranks also conserve themselves, to put into perspective of what I know. When I mentioned it was good that she had the energy to speak with us and that we had a limited amount of information, she acknowledged that they are also limited in what they can offer us. I suspect some kind of rules in place about information exchange, again, not unlike Constellations. Asking about how the people here were chosen, she responded that they simply were desperate and begged until someone answered. The ones who answered are the ones who were brought here. Mentioning Joseph's statement on the matter (that he doesn't know), there seemed to be an air of... distaste? and she called him eccentric.
Regina emphasized that the Princess taken by the Darkness was "everything to everyone"
SQUIGGLES MCGUNDEATH Color: None (Black?) Page writings: None (Scribbles?) Initial Introduction: shooting people and a name tag gets stuck on them that they cannot remove until they address the subject mentioned on the tag. penalty for not cooperating: being turned into paper and possibly eaten. The Tag: I kept being hit with tags about my "eating habits". there were several interesting summaries of different stories. honestly, I did my best to refrain but if people approached me, obviously I'm going to ask? After: Regina gifted us with mason jars and a pot. she didn't seem clear on why she was able to gather the energy for it. progressing the story? connections between people? the truths spoken? or maybe it's just the presence of us living?
Squiggles seems to be on the side against Regina wanting to care for us. could be with the Darkness that took the Princess? hard to say...
Update: Regina has since clarified some of the reasons for gaining power from our interactions.
[NAME UNKNOWN] (I've elected to call him "Bokshil" for now) Color: dark blue (Arts and Recreation) Page writings: "To those I miss(?) and those I --(?) to those who smile and those who cry have fun(?) tried to laugh have you(?) tried to look the other way perhaps the tragedy is all your own fault." Initial Introduction: ran a scenario involving ranking the colored groups in order from Least Expendable to Most Expendable and choosing 3 people we would die for The Scenario: Emet-Selch requested that Arts and Rec be prioritized. he also wanted to ease the 2 kids on Philosophy's troubles by putting them higher on the rankings. the second round began with an announcement that Philosophy was eliminated because "they were unloved". we were asked to name something that would aid us in finding the princess. probably I should have put in a request for unsewing one of my skills, but I had thought it was a dangerous game. besides, I truly do think that we need everyone here to be able to solve the mystery of where the princess has disappeared to. After: Social and Natural Sciences won along with Arts and Rec. I'm pretty sure we only won because we voted on ourselves while the other two have strong connections with siblings across the two groups. Languages, unharmed. Philosophy, unharmed but covered in whipped cream for some reason. Arts and Rec's reward: bouquet of roses. Social Sciences received a pamphlet. Natural Sciences received a med kit and a ribbon of dark blue because they were highest voted.
CHRÉTIEN Color: light blue (Natural Sciences) Page writings: none Initial Introduction: A restricted section of books appearing on the stage in locked bookcases. The Books: Collection of unfinished stories that may be affected by Darkness where some people have already disappeared. Confirmed Lukai Hwei is one of the people who has fallen into one of these unfinished stories. Also confirmed that finding the princess and finishing this story will help those trapped be free again. Other information: Chrétien appears as an androgynous person with blue hair and aqua eyes. Largely spoke with a depressive attitude of defeatism, believing themself to be "wise" and not willing to expend unnecessary energy for a story that will, inevitably (to them), fall into Darkness. This could explain why they have more of a physical form and awareness as a person? It could be that the others have expended more energy and therefore used up their abilities to maintain their form. It's just theory, but other theories could be that as we do more here in the Library, they become less fragmented. Either way, eventually, I got sick of their attitude, so I hit them with my satchel. It seemed to hit them harder than I thought it would (is it because of it being larger on the inside? because I had my notebook in it and there's unique properties there as well? because of the action having a certain significance? hard to say, currently. will have to experiment with that). They claimed that they deserved it and then disappeared in a show of blue petals.
JOSEPH Color: light green (Social Sciences) Page writings: "That's rich." Initial Introduction: Announcing of a task to come up with resource book ideas for each section as well as a collectively agreed upon social gathering location to add to the library. Caveat that he is permitted to edit these ideas as he sees fit. Book Ideas: Arts and Recreation settled on asking for more dishware and means to create more as needed. Assorted other ideas for the other sections. (further notes on this as we gain access to finish products) Other Information: Joseph claims to have a king's disposition but was not in charge of who was brought into the library ("I am but a humble--" before switching to calling himself a lord, don't think I won't remember that), so he has no idea the type of people brought in. When asked what he wanted to see from the story, he answered "A happy ending, perhaps." and said that he believed in us to achieve it before disappearing into (fake) gold coins.
Task is currently still on-going. He seems kind of awkward and playing up his role. It could be seen as incompetence, but it could also be that he's just bad at acting.
After: Each section received 1 book slot on their shelves + the cat cafe for the entire library. Joseph appears to have hands now.
Just adding this space here so I can add the information once I have some energy to recall the scenario in more detail. To be updated.
[updated at some point Day 11:]
Page writings: drawing of a dagger, a rose with a smiling face and roots showing, and a shield. around the dagger are the words "fight to the last" and "raise your sword". around the stem of the rose are the words "I'm always noble" and "I've always loved you". around the shield are the words "lose(?) to everyone", "protect her", and "protect myself". Initial Introduction: running a scenario involving each section having to choose a "receiver" who would be given gifts from the rest of the section. if the gifts are weighed to be more valuable than the gifts of other sections, they will receive not just those gifts but also gifts of similar value from the losing sections. The Scenario: On Arts & Rec's end, round 1 involved myself as the receiver and Emet-Selch offering the gift of "belief in a utopia". This was highly valued since I also received Leona, Simon Petrikov, and Gojo Satoru's memories regarding things that made their world "a better place". And then, after initially processing all of that, Leona's severed hand was received as well. The second round had Rook Hunt sharing emotions or... sentiments, perhaps. It was a little confusing and was judged not to be as valuable as others' gifts. My memories of someone important were taken, as a penalty. There may have been another penalty but I can't say it registered much. In the third round, Rook Hunt was the receiver and Emet-Selch gifted him the power of creation. This was judged not to be as valuable as others' gifts. Rook Hunt's memories of Leona were taken, as a penalty. After: All sections but Natural Science appeared to win a request from Philip. Philip could be called upon by the winners to return the things taken from the receivers during the three rounds. I opted to give back those memories and stories that I was given, though I specifically had to use Philip's abilities to correct the gift with Emet-Selch. Other Information: Philip apparently likes to speak in rhymes. Or maybe is compelled to. They're often not very good and barely rhyme some of the time. Also, seems pretty self-aware of his own tendencies? Not sure if I should be keeping track of everything he says...
REGINA Claims to be "aligned" with Philosopy but is not responsible for us being here. She said if she were a team member she'd be able to cause as much change as us. Has agreed to be our team mascot for motivation.
SQUIGGLES MCGUNDEATH I was able to orb him like a normal curse but he exploded inside my mouth and left me with a punishment. Unsure if this has to do with my technique not being functional or if these entities simply don't count as cursed spirits.
